Operation Sadbhavana sends 23 students to south India

A group of 23 students has embarked on a 13-day educational-cum-motivational tour to south Indian cities under "Operation Sadbhavana" of the Indian Army.
The students would be visiting Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Ooty and Bangalore and would tour places like Nayyar Dam and Wildlife Sanctuary, Kovalam Beach and Priyadarshini Space Planetarium at Trivandrum.
The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta), flagged off the tour from Bhaderwah yesterday, defence spokesman said here today.
The students, from far-flung areas of Kishtwar, will also get an opportunity to visit Madras Regimental Centre known for its famous martial arts of South India called Kalaripayattu, he said.

The aim of the tour is to showcase the development of the country to the youth, to provide them an opportunity to visit important places and to interact with the people of those regions and also eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon, he added.
The tour is scheduled to return after a visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan on its way back, the spokesman said.
