Opium worth Rs 1.4 cr seized, 3 held

Security personnel today seized 4.2 kg of opium valued at Rs 1.40 crore after arresting three persons from Kochadhaman police station area of Bihar's Kishanganj district.
A joint team of Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB) and police arrested the smugglers when they were going to Nepal via Kishanganj to sell the opium, SSB's 12th battalion Deputy Commandant Kumar Sundaram said.
The drug was brought from Malda district of West Bengal, he said adding that two of the three smugglers hailed from West Bengal while the third one was from Kishanganj.
