Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said opposition parties have more faith in JMM leaders than their own and such an approach was a good indication for the party.
When asked that the BJP had hijacked his party MLAs to field them as their own candidates in the ensuing elections, Soren, who accompanied party candidate and former Tata Steel vice-president Niroop Mahanty to file nomination from the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat, said "It seems they have more faith in our leaders than their own. It is a positive sign for JMM."
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that his party would do well from Jamshedpur in the April 17 elections.
Refusing to share the party's poll strategy, Soren said "I can assure that JMM will emerge victorious from Jamshedpur as well as other seats."
"JMM has been fighting for the cause of 3.5 crore people of Jharkhand and fulfill their aspirations," he said.
Referring to JMM MLA Bidyut Baran Mahato, who had switched to contest the elections from Jamshedpur on a BJP ticket, Soren said it was good to provide space for new faces.
"Though such developments were taking place in all parties, it will hardly have any impact on the prospect of JMM where more young leaders are coming," he said.
Earlier, indirectly hinting at Soren, Mahato had said he had established his political identity in the society on his own and not any political godfather's support.
