Intensifying the protest against the Centre over the Land Acquisition Bill, 10 opposition parties including the Congress, SP, TMC and the Left parties would stage a march to the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday and submit a memorandum to the President.
Attacking the BJP-led government for making changes in the Land Acquisition Act, JD(U) leader Shard Yadav in a statement here today said the Ordinance has diluted the previous Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 Act, which are against the interest of farmers.
The government has brought a bill to replace the Ordinance, which is being opposed by almost all opposition parties on the ground it issimilar to the one passed by the British regime, Yadav added.
"In view of the above, it has been decided that opposition parties which include Congress, Samajwadi, TMC, CPI, CPI(M), JD(U), RJD and JD(S) will assemble to protest against the above mentioned Bill on March 17 at 5.00 PM at Gandhi Statue in the Parliament House Complex, and thereafter will march towards the President House to meet the President," he said.
These parties would also submit a representation to the President on the issue.
Tthe Lok Sabha had passed the contoversial bill with a total of nine amendments last week.
