opposes linking all holy water sites by pipeline

: BJP leader H Raja today opposed linking all holy water sites by a pipeline and pumping water from them to a particular point for being sprinkled on pilgrims at one place in the famous Sri Ramanathaswamy temple here.
Speaking to reporters here, he said "Agama Sastras" (rules governing temple rituals) do not permit that. He also demanded that all the holy water sites in the island be restored, and encroachments removed. He pointed out that pumping water from the sites would not succeed as the island town did not have power most of the time.
The system of taking bath in different holy water sites had been thought off by the saints to provide enough exercise for the old and youngsters, he said.
