Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote today objected to NCP minister Fauzia Khan replying to a question in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, saying she could not do so as her term as the member of the House had expired.
Raote raised the objection after Khan, a minister of state for school education, rose to reply to a question during the question hour.
Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh said as per the constitutional provisions she could remain a minister for six month despite not being a member of the house.
However, he assured opposition members who backed Raote that he would study the issue in detail.
But the opposition was not satisfied and staged a walkout.
