While launching the new structure, Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (School Education) Surina Rajan said this re-design has been undertaken as part of a state-wide Quality Improvement Program (QIP) with the objective to improve the learning levels of students in 15,000 government schools of the state enrolling 26 lakh students and one lakh teachers.
She said in the new structure, three centers of excellence have been constituted -- Centre for Curriculum and Pedagogy, Centre for Professional Development and Centre for Research and Testing.
In addition, personnel with relevant expertise in primary education have been included in various departments.
The Director of Secondary School Education Haryana Vivek Attray said SCERT will now also be given greater autonomy in three key functional areas -- planning and management, human resources, and finance and budgeting.
