Organisers of Simhasth-2016 have been promoting this mammoth religious congregation vigorously on social media, a move which has attracted large number of online devotees from all over the world.
"To promote Simhasth-2016, the Mela authorities have not only launched a dedicated website but are also going all out on social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which is being liked and followed by large number of devotees in nearly 40 countries," an official release said today.
A UK-based devotee Hemant Kumar has also suggested incorporating "Swastik" symbol on the Simhasth flag as it is part of Indian culture and tradition for ages.
The website www.Simhasthujjain.In has all the information related to the Mela.
A page "Simhasth Mahakumbh-2016" too was launched on Facebook to promote the Mela, it added.
Simhasth-2016 is being organised from April 22 to May 21 in Ujjain. It is being held in this ancient and religious city after a gap of every 12 years.
The Mela authorities have also launched a special Simhasth Mobile App having a host of facilities. It will act as a guide for the large number of devotees visiting the Mela, which will see a confluence of age-old religious traditions and use of information technology this time.
Besides, Geographical Information System (GIS) technology will be extensively used in mapping the Mela area. GIS-enabled system will identify available parking slot, have information on traffic plan, Peshwai Marg (traditional procession roads), location of ATM counters among other facilities.
According to Simhasth Publicity Advisor Suresh Tiwari, the authorities are also planning to deploy bilingual experts in large number this time in view of participation of foreigners and Non-Resident-Indians (NRIs).
Also, a dedicated Simhasth portal is being developed to provide information related to this month-long fair. It will also help a lot in the management of over one lakh employees to be deployed during the mela period, he added.
