OSIC ties up with WTC

State-run Odisha Small Industries Corporation Limited (OSIC) today signed a pact with the World Trade Centre (WTC) to promote and strengthen export activities.
The MoU, signed between OSIC and WTC here, was aimed at providing export marketing and service support to the medium and small scale entrepreneurs.
While OSIC managing director Partha Sarathi Mishra, represneted the state, AO Kuruvila, Advisor, WTC, Mumbai, signed in the MOU.
"Now onwards by virtue of this understanding the MSEs of the state can use the international platform of WTC which has presence in 92 countries with 327 Centres all over the World," according to the provision of the MoU.
Minister for MSME Jogendra Behera said that Odisha has a huge potential to become a leader in various products and services.
"It is known that WTC which is headquartered at New York is a global network to reach out to various countires. Thus with the MoU inked today between OSIC and WTC, I look forward not only to OSIC but all other associated department to work in tandem with WTC for market development and market penetration opportunities for the MSMEs of the state," he said.
OSIC has already created an Export division in the corporation since Jaunary this year and the unit has the Export merchant license issued by DGFT and also has past experience in Export marketing.
The MoU with the WTC will support, promote and strengthen the export activities of the state, the minister said.
