Outokumpu appoints Jan Hofmann as Prez Asia Pacific Biz

Finnish stainless steel major Outokumpu today said it has appointed Jan Hofmann as President of its Asia Pacific (APAC) business, including India, and member of the company's leadership team.
"Outokumpu has appointed Jan Hofmann as President of APAC business area including India and member of the Outokumpu Leadership Team effective immediately," it said in a statement.
Hofmann has been the interim head of the business area APAC since April 1, 2015 and has held key positions in the company including being head of strategy and finance for APAC, and the head of strategy at Outokumpu.
He will report to Outokumpu CEO Mika Seitovirta, the statement said.

"Jan has taken a firm lead on the APAC business area, bringing to the position his extensive industry experience and a sharp strategic focus," Seitovirta said.
Yatinder Pal Singh Suri, Country Head of Outokumpu India, said Asia Pacific, including India, is a major market for the global stainless steel giant.
"The demand for stainless steel in APAC in the year 2014 grew by 6.1 per cent compared to 2013, almost highest in the world. Company eyes as a major market and the new APAC head is expected to visit India in the second week of May, 2015," Suri said.
