Among the countries availing this facility during November 2016, the UK continues to occupy the top slot, followed by the US and Russia.
"A total of 1,36,876 foreign tourists arrived in November 2016 on e-tourist visa as compared to 83,501 during the month of November 2015 registering a growth of 63.9 per cent," an official release said.
The facility of e-tourist visa is available to citizens of 155 countries at 16 International Airports in India.
Among the top 10 source countries availing e-tourist visa during last month, the UK has the maximum share with 22.3 per cent, followed by the US (12.9 per cent), Russia (8.7 per cent), France (6.3 per cent) and China (6.1 per cent).
The share of Germany was 4.6 per cent, while that of Australia 4.1 per cent, Canada 3.6 per cent, Netherlands and Ukraine 1.8 per cent each.
The share of Hyderabad Airport was 1.94 per cent, while that of Trivandrum Airport 1.32 per cent and Amritsar Airport 1.11 per cent.
