Over 13 pc increase in budget allocation for I&B Ministry
Press Trust of India New Delhi The Information and Broadcasting Ministry saw an increase of around 13.8 per cent in its annual budgetary allocation today.
According to the revised estimates for 2015-16, the allocation of the I&B Ministry was Rs 3,588.58 crore while for the financial year 2016-17 it has been increased to Rs 4,083.63 crore.
Of these, Rs 3,108.86 crore would go to public broadcaster Prasar Bharati. Rs 52 crore has been earmarked for Doordarshan's Kisan channel.
The budget also allocates Rs 491.78 crore on information and publicity head.
