Over 3 kg gold seized from 2 air passengers

Customs officials today seized 3.32 kg gold from two passengers at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad here while they were allegedly trying to smuggle the yellow metal by concealing it in their shoes.
The two passengers arrived by a flight from Dubai in the early hours today and during the scan, the customs officials found that they had concealed the gold powder in a plastic that was attached with the sole in their shoes, a senior Customs Officer said.
The duo was being questioned and the process to arrest them was on, the officer added.
