The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) also said that 16 police cases have been registered during April 10 and August 21 in this regard.
The action was taken both by the Central Advertising Department of the civic body as well its two zonal offices in Shahdara North and Shahdara East.
A total of 36,021 illegals banners, hoardings, flexes, and other such advertisements have been removed during this period, the EDMC said in a report.
During this period, the number of unauthorised unipoles removed stood at seven, while seven illegal rooftop structures were also taken down.
Nearly 650 challans were also issued, it said.
EDMC, besides the North and South Corporations has been working on evolving a new advertising policy to not only boost its revenue but also clamp down on illegal advertisements.
