accused of allegedly cheating job aspirates by illegally conducting exam for entry into aviation and maritime sectors.
Anchor Aviation and Marine Academy holds no legal licence to hold examinations for jobs in aviation and maritime sectors. Still the academy conducted such an examination here yesterday and took hefty fees from candidates, police said today.
The local unit of Vidyarthi Sena, MNS' student wing, led by its city leaders Ranjit Rathod and Lalit Yawalkare came to the rescue of hundred of job seekers and brought them to the Civil Line Police Station.
District Collector G Shrikant, on getting information, reached the police station and ordered the exam organisers to refund the fee to candidates.
A local school had charged Rs 30,000 for allowing the organisation to hold the day-long examination, they said.
One of the candidates, Manoj Ingole, said he has found out that the academy has no authority to advertise or hold exams for jobs in civil aviation or merchant navy.
The body has no licence from the civil aviation regulator DGCA to conduct such examinations, police said, adding the academy is not affiliated to any recognised university.
The Collector has ordered an inquiry into the school's decision to let out its premises to the academy.
