A truck carrying 329 cartons of liquor bottles was seized from Sonepur in Saran district last night, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pankaj Kumar Sharma said.
A raid was conducted at a motel in Sonepur and the truck, with liquor brought from Haryana, was seized, he said.
The driver and his helper, both residents of the district, have been arrested.
"The liquor cartons, hidden between sacks of potatoes, were meant to be sold a fair next month," the SDPO said.
The driver and his aide have been taken into custody, Katahara police station in-charge Rakesh Ranjan said.
The arrested duo has revealed that they hailed from Uttar Pradesh and had brought the vehicle from Bathinda in Punjab, Ranjan said.
Sale, manufacturing and consumption of liquor was declared illegal by the Nitish Kumar government in April, last year.
