The affected villages are Patrapur, Talapada under Patrpur block, Khemundikhola under Sanakhemundi and Ranigaon under Purushottampur block, the sources said.
The patients were undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals and their condition was stable, in-charge chief district medical officer (CDMO) L K Rath said.
Mobile medical units have been sent to the affected villages to carry patients to hospitals.
However, no fresh case was reported today, he said.
A 62-year-old woman identified as Bhanu Behera died at Patrapur, sources said. The cause of her death was being verified to ascertain whether it was due to diarrhoea, the CDMO said.
Disinfection in the water sources have been started and the people of the villages advised to drink boiled water.
"I have already written letters to executive engineers of rural water and sanitation supply (RWSS) for filtration and chlorification of the water before supplying to the people in different villages", the CDMO said.
