Over 6,400 motorists challaned on New Year night in Delhi

As many as 6,486 motorists were prosecuted by Delhi police for a range of offences during the New Year revelries in the national capital, police said today.
"We have challaned 6,486 motorists for various traffic offences in the late night drive that started at 8 PM yesterday and lasted till 3 AM today.
"Of the total prosecutions, 664 pertained to cases of drunken driving and 335 cases of over-speeding. Around 395 vehicles were impounded," said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Muktesh Chander.
