Over 6,800 more CISF troops required for new Metro ops: Govt

There is an additional requirement of over 6,800 CISF personnel for security duties in the upcoming phases of Delhi Metro, government told the Lok Sabha today.
"The existing deployment of CISF personnel in Delhi Metro is 6,426. The requirement of personnel in Delhi Metro, as projected by CISF, is 2,120 additional posts for Phase I and II and 4,688 posts for Phase III," Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said in a written reply.
He said complaints regarding people entering Metro stations without proper frisking and getting their bags checked were "found to be misplaced" and instructions for increased vigilance during checking have been reiterated.
