Badal assured this to a delegation of Goindwal Industrial Development Association (GIDA), led by its Chairman Gurinder Pal Singh Sandhu here today.
Responding to the issues raised by the representatives of the association, the Chief Minister directed the MD of Punjab Small Industries and Exports Corporation (PSIEC) to permit the industrial plot holders of up to 8,000 sq. Yards to deposit the balance amount at the rate of 10 per cent simple interest.
Only a few plot holders had availed this facility as this benefit was only limited to the plots of 500 and 1,000 sq yards.
He, therefore, asked the PSIEC to refer this case to the Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal so that a final call could be taken on this matter.
Allowing the facility of housing to owners of industrial units in Goindwal Sahib, the Chief Minister asked the GM PSIEC to take up this issue with the Chief Town and Country Planner.
The Chief Minister also asked the PSIEC to immediately process the pending cases for the release of already sanctioned subsidies to the industrialists of Goindwal Sahib.
Realising the hardships faced by the owners of these units, the Chief Minister asked the CMD PSPCL to immediately set up a special counter of Powercom at Goindwal Sahib, manned by a Junior Engineer to facilitate them for their day-to-day works as now they had to go to Khadoor Sahib to get their works done.
The Chief Minister pointed out that with the setting up of Rs 250-crore ultra modern paint unit by Kansai Nerolac over an area of 35 acres, and Rs 100 crore LPG Bottling Plant by Indian Oil Corporation over an area of 30 acres, at Industrial Complex, Goindwal Sahib would surely give impetus to the local industry with several ancillary units coming up around the industrial estate.
