Paddy nursery raising before May 15 prohibited in Haryana

Haryana government today said it has issued orders for strict implementation of the 'Haryana Preservation of Sub Soil Water Act, 2009', which prohibits raising of paddy nursery before May 15 and transplantation of paddy before June 15.
Giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Agriculture Department said a written communication in this regard had been issued to all deputy directors in the state.
Contravention of the provisions of the Act is punishable with penalty of Rs 10,000 for every month or part thereof per hectare of land, he added.
