Pak blast targets police van, 9 injured

At least nine people, including eight policemen, were injured when an IED targeting a police van exploded in this northwestern city of Pakistan today, police said.
The police van of the Quick Response Force was on routine patrol when the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the roadside detonated.
As a result, nine persons including eight members of the force, were injured.
According to the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), two kilos of explosives was used in the remote-controlled blast. The bomb was planted under a bridge and was hidden among flower pots.
The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.
Police cordoned off the area immediately after the blast and started an investigation into the incident.
