Pakistan Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan today said that the government will not create any hurdle for legal political activities by the opposition.
Talking to media here, Khan said that Imran Khan should seek formal permission from the district administration of the capital for his protests as government had already imposed section 144 which forbids any kind of gathering in Islamabad.
"Hurdles will not be created to obstruct any political activities that take place within the ambit of the Constitution," he said.
Commenting on the verdict of Lahore High Court allowing peaceful protests as permissible under the constitution, Khan said the government will implement the decision but the protesters should first inform the government about the agitation, purpose of protest and possible venue for the rally.
According to reports, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has so far not sought any permission for his Islamabad march.
The minister also ruled out any possibility of military intervention and said army was busy in war against militants in North Waziristan and it has no time for a political march.
He said government had taken security measures as there were intelligence reports that terrorists can attack the participants of the rally of Imran Khan.
