Pakistan's top military generals Tuesday discussed the ceasefire violations and targeting of civilians allegedly by Indian forces along the Line of Control.
The issues were discussed at the 17th Corps Commanders' Conference presided by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The Corps Commanders conference is regularly held to review the security situation and discuss military affairs.
The forum reviewed geo-strategic environment and security situation of the country, army spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a statement.
The "situation along the Eastern border including Indian ceasefire violations deliberately targeting innocent citizens" were discussed by the commanders.
Pakistan Monday summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner J P Singh and condemned the alleged "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by Indian troops across the Line of Control which resulted in the death of a civilian.
Progress of ongoing operations, fencing along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and the Afghan reconciliation process were also discussed, Ghafoor said.
The officers reiterated to continue efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace.
