A Pakistani national was arrested by the Sri Lankan authorities at the Bandaranaike International Airport here for attempting to smuggle over 2 kgs of heroin worth Rs30 million, according to a media report.
The 39-year-old suspect had arrived from Qatar and was arrested after the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) found 2.42 kgs of heroin concealed in a false bottom of his luggage, the Colombo Page reported.
The heroin stock was said to be worth about Rs 30 million in the international market.
Following the arrest, the authorities at the airport conducted further investigations.
