Palghar assembly bypolls to be held on June 27

Bypolls to the Palghar assembly constituency in the district will be held on June 27, the Election Commission of India (ECI) officially announced here today.
The seat held by Shiv Sena MLA Krishna Ghoda, fell vacant on May 24, 2015, after his demise.
In a notice issued today, the ECI declared that the model code of conduct would soon be in force in the entire district where the election is to be held.
The notification would be issued on June 3, and filing of nomintations would begin on that day until June 10, while the last date for withdrawl is June 13.

Counting of votes is scheduled for June 30, with electoral rolls with reference to January 1, as qualifying date.
