The company will establish the India R&D Centre in its appliances company India consisting of two technical divisions in Bangalore in April 2017 in partnership with Tata Elxsi, the company said in a statement.
The centre would cater its global markets besides India and Japan, it added.
"It will strengthen the Design Division targeting the complete local product development process in India. The company will establish the design division in Bangalore in April 2017 in partnership with Tata Elxsi," said Panasonic.
Panasonic, which aims to expand its appliances business here by accelerating local production and sales activities, had started local production in 1990 with rice cookers, TVs from 1996 and airconditioners from 2013 to address the growing demand in the market.
