ACB Superintendent Sandeep Karnik said that civil official Sudhakar T Jagtap (45) and accountant Yusuf Mohamad Salle Bedekar (57) allegedly demanded Rs 45,000 from the contractor to clear his dues.
However, it was decided that a sum of Rs 30,000 would be paid to the officials to clear the bills. The contractor complained to the ACB's Thane unit which laid a trap and nabbed the accountant today from his office while he was accepting the bribe money.
Offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against the duo at the Panvel police station, the ACB said.
