Founder of Jan Adhikar Party Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav today met Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and demanded a CBI probe into the 'misdeeds' of arrested JD(U) MLA Anant Singh.
Pappu Yadav met the Governor at Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to him listing alleged misdeeds of Singh, the MLA from Mokama and sought CBI probe into these activities, having taken place during 10-year rule of Nitish Kumar.
Emerging from Raj Bhawan after the meeting, the MP from Madhepura told mediapersons, the Governor gave a patient hearing to his party's demands and assured action.
Earlier, police stopped a procession led by Pappu Yadav to Raj Bhawan at the R-block roundabout and allowed a small team led by the MP to go to Raj Bhawan to meet the Governor.
Flaunting handcuff and tying mouth with a black ribbon, Pappu Yadav led the protest march of his newly floated party to Raj Bhawan.
Yadav, who floated his new party after expulsion from RJD was denied permission to hold a rally at Barh in rural Patna today against kidnapping of four youths one of whom died later on June 17.
JD(U) MLA Anant Singh's name cropped up in the incident though he has been arrested and sent to jail in a separate case of abduction.
Yadav alleged in his memorandum that by stopping his party from holding rally at Barh, Bihar government proved that it was still trying to "save" MLA Anant Singh.
"Such action even did not happen during Emergency," he commented.
