During a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance at Udaipur, Rajasthan, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Ajay Sancheti raised the issue of the alleged scam, involving the NGO, Srijan, a member of the panel, who was present at the meeting, said on the condition of anonymity.
The members of the committee also asked the officials of a bank to investigate the matter, he added.
The panel raised the issue a day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recommended a CBI probe into the alleged swindling of government funds to the tune of over Rs 950 crore by the NGO at Bhagalpur in Bihar.
The cases lodged in this regard had been investigated by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar police.
Yesterday, the Bihar police issued a lookout notice against the secretary of the NGO and her husband.
