A Parliamentary panel will submit its report on corruption-related bills, including Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2103, in the upcoming session beginning February 5.
Chairman of the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice Shantaram Naik today said there were seven corruption-related bills pending before Parliament.
The panel held a meeting on the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill with Chambers of Commerce, nationalised banks like UCO, UBI and PSUs like MSTC.
Naik said that for the first time, the private sector would be brought under the provisions of the Bill.
Those private sector units having a proper vigilance mechanism in place would, however, be exempted, he said.
The reports would be submitted within the first two days of the session he said, expressing the hope that they would be passed with the help of Opposition parties.
