Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said the announcement of names and the setting up of the committees would be completed by this week and that these panels would start functioning by this month end.
"The spadework for the standing committees has been done. Political parties have already given their names. Of course, some of them were late.
"I think, from tomorrow onwards, the work will start and be completed this week," he told reporters here.
Meanwhile, welcoming the talks between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chief Ministers in a bid to sort out differences between the two states on various issues, Naidu said that the Centre would not interfere in the administrative functioning of state governments.
"If at all there are issues which are pending with the (Centre), and if both the states (involved) want central assistance, then only will the central government step in.
He urged the two chief ministers to meet frequently to address the issues which crop up between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
"It will really help ease the tension and misunderstanding created between various people. It is better that both chief ministers meet frequently, open up and try to identify the issues and sort those," he said.
