The 10-hour bandh called by CPI(M) in Kamarhati area of North 24 Parganas district evoked partial response today.
No untoward incident occurred during the bandh, the police said.
The bandh was called to protest against the attack on party leaders Subhas Mukherjee and Manas Mukherjee allegedly by workers of the ruling Trinamool Congress.
CPI(M) state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra said the Trinamool Congress is attacking party leaders as it is scared.
