Patel agitation for OBC wants to eliminate reservation policy:

Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao today alleged that the intention behind the ongoing agitation by Hardik Patel in Gujarat for inclusion of Patels in the OBC list is to eliminate reservation policy and it has the backing of RSS.
Briefing newspersons here, Rao who is the Convenor of the forum of OBC MPs wondered why does the wealthy Patel community requires reservations and demanded a reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also hails from an OBC community.
"They want to remove the existing reservation and that is their strategy. My point is Patels are well off... Their intention is different. Their intention is to remove reservation," he said.

While charging that their target is to eliminate reservations for OBCs, Rao further warned that there is a possibility that it may percolate to SCs and STs, as well.
Asked whether his views were of the Congress party, he replied that he was speaking on behalf of the forum of OBC MPs, which comprise members cutting across party lines.
