Tearing into the Patel quota stir, MP and Dalit leader Udit Raj today said the agitation being led by Hardik Patel in Gujarat was a "conspiracy" to end reservation for the SC/ST community and that he will not let that succeed.
Raj, who also holds the post of National Chairman of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations, said he has planned a mass rally with "more than 10 lakh people" in Delhi to counter the Patel agitation.
"Hardik Patel did a rally with 5 lakh people. I have planned a rally to respond to him on December 7 at Ramlila Maidan with the support of more than 10 lakh people," Raj told PTI here on the sidelines of an event.
He added that SC/ST people have stood up to fight their own battle and deliver a strong message by raising their voice against the "agents of chaos".
"Hardik Patel's agitation and demotion of more than two lakh government employees in Uttar Pradesh are two major concerns. There is no time for discussion or practice; this is the time for action. Instead of defence, we have to attack," Raj said while addressing Arakshan Chintat Sammelan at Constitution Club.
Another leader said, "Hardik Patel is puppet of some people with vested interest who want to demolish reservation of SC/ST people.
