Mamata Sarkar (40) was admitted to the female ward of the hospital late last night. At around 2.30 pm her condition deteriorated and attending doctor Animesh Mondal found her collapsing and failed to find her pulse or heart beat, Hospital sources said.
Mondal then declared her dead, they said.
When the family members of Sarkar went to the hospital this morning they were told that she had died. But when they went to take her body they detected she was moving her arms and legs.
The family members of Sarkar then created a ruckus in the hospital about the incident.
Hospital Superintendent M A Rashid said action would be taken against the concerned the doctor for the negligence.
Mondal apologised to the family members of Sarkar for declaring her dead.
