Celebrity chef Paula Deen has issued a second apology following her racial slur scandal that cost Deen her job at the Food Network.
The 66-year-old chef came under fire after admitting last month under oath in a deposition to using racial slurs in the past. Deen is facing a USD 1.2 million lawsuit by a former employee, the Us magazine reported.
Deen has issued a second public video apology for her "inappropriate, hurtful language."
"I've made plenty of mistakes along the way. But I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I've made," Deen said.
Food Network released a statement yesterday, saying they will not renew Deen's contract at the end of the month.
"Food Network will not renew Paula Deen's contract when it expires at the end of this month," a channel spokeswoman said.
The Emmy-winning star began working for the Food Network in 1999.
