Addressing the party's national convention here, Pawar said "The fabrics of social harmony are being undermined. Religious places of minorities are being attacked. Objectionable slogans like 'ghar wapsi' and 'love jihad' are being raised. If this is not checked, there would be far reaching repercussions."
"India is the largest democracy of the world which is an ancient civilisation of diversities. Its prominent features are religious tolerance and respect for multiplicity. Four religions - Hindu, Buddhism, Jain and Sikhism originated from here. It is home to large population of Muslims.
The need of the hour is to stop fundamental forces from leading the country and to achieve it NCP had aligned with RJD, JD(U) and Congress in Bihar, Pawar said.
"Route to every big change in Delhi is via Bihar. NCP is confident that the secular alliance in Bihar will succeed in its objective of defeating BJP," Pawar said.
The NCP president and former union minister recalled "Everybody knows the so called dharma rath of L K Advani was stopped in Bihar. I strongly believe that the reality of false assurances and hollow slogans of Modi government will come to light in Bihar assembly polls. BJP will have to lick the dust and NCP will earn strong position," he added.
"The minority communities are living in uncertain and volatile atmosphere. Their places of worship are attacked and their patriotism is being questioned," the resolution said.
It said NCP has to strengthen its organisation and share national political approach, politics and targets of alliance with all party workers. Order to enable party to shoulder the responsibilities.
"We will have to start communication and dialogue with all political parties especially progressive and left parties barring BJP so that there can be better coordination," the resolution said.
