"Responsible persons holding some high posts should not indulge in making such remarks which create ripples in the society and not good for the country," Pawar told reporters here today in response to a query.
"It can have serious ramifications on the society," he said adding, "Reservation to Dalits, tribals and others has been provided as per the constitutional provision and remarks to reconsider is unnecessary and without any justification."
Talking about the upcoming Bihar elections, where NCP has pulled out of the RJD-JD(U)-Congress grand alliance, Pawar said they were not consulted before allotment of seats and only three seats were given to the NCP.
"When approached, the alliance leaders declined to adjust or discuss anything there, therefore, NCP parted ways," he said.
On the prospects of Bihar elections, Pawar said a change was imminent and which alliance will be benefited, can't be predicted.
Replying to a query on the probes in the alleged irregularities by former NCP ministers Ajit Pawar, Chhagan Bhujbal and Sunil Tatkare, the party chief alleged, "The investigation is not being conducted properly and there is a political vendetta against them."
The former Union Agriculture Minister, who toured some villages in Yavatmal district, the epicentre of farm crisis, yesterday said the farmers suicides go up in the months between July and September, which is time for sowing, mainly for scanty rainfalls and mounting debts.
He said there was also a need for changing norms for the compensation given by the state government.
Pawar also said he would take up the farmers' issue with the Prime Minister when he returns home from abroad.
