"Steps for mitigating hardships of the people in drought- hit areas will be discussed," state NCP spokesman Madan Bafna told reporters today, adding that the new state executive committee and office bearers will also be announced.
Pawar will take inputs from the district unit chiefs to chart out steps for relief to the affected persons.
The Agriculture Minister, who heads the empowered Group of Ministers on drought, met Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan yesterday and assured central assistance to tackle drought, he said.
The ministers, MPs and MLAs will attend the meeting along with district unit party chiefs where drought situation will be reviewed, he said.
Condemning the blasts in Pune, Bafna appealed to the people to remain calm and not pay attention to rumours.
"Government is handling the situation and is taking steps to ensure that peace prevails," he added.
