Pb: Over 4 tones of spurious ghee and mustard oil seized

A team of food administration and health department today seized more than four tones of spurious ghee, mustard oil and gram flour amounting to several lakhs from a super store situated on Peer Chaudhary road here today.
A team of food administration headed by Assistant Commissioner (Food) Harjot Pal Singh, police officials and Health Department today raided the super store and found more than two tones of spurious desi ghee, one and half tones of spurious mustard oil and five quintals of inferior quality of gram flour from the premises.
The authorities took seven samples and sealed the stock and sent the samples to the state food laboratory for analysis.

Amanjot Singh told PTI that the owner of the super store used to bring the spurious desi ghee and other goods from Haryana. They used to make their own packing at the name of non-existing firms and sell the same in the market.
The raiding party also seized several lakhs packing materials from the shop.
Singh said that a legal action would be taken against the firm on the findings of the report.
