PCJ hands over Rs 2 lakh cheque to family of deceased

The Press Club of Jammu today handed over a cheque of Rs two lakh to the family of a journalist who had died in a road accident last year.
President of Press Club of Jammu Ashwini Kumar handed over cheque to Sarita Gupta wife of Sanjay Kishore Gupta, who worked for a local Urdu daily.
Gupta, who was seriously injured in a road mishap in Chinore on February 15, 2014, had died in New Delhi after battling for life for four days.
The money was given under the organisation's accident insurance scheme.
"Since all journalist members of Press Club of Jammu are covered under the accidental insurance scheme necessary paper work was completed to extend a helping hand to the members of the deceased family by the management committee" Ashwini Kumar said.

He also appealed to the members of the media fraternity to strictly follow traffic rules and take necessary precautions while driving.
