Describing the Opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) as a party full of "turncoats" and "liars", ruling National Conference (NC) today said PDP should apologise to the people of Kashmir for its wrongdoings.
"This party (PDP) never talked about Kashmir when it was in power for fear of losing the chief minister's seat. And today they have the audacity to talk about resolution on Kashmir," NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani said at a workers' convention here.
Accusing PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of hatching conspiracies to weaken the special status of the state, Wani alleged that PDP leaders had relied on BJP for the furtherance of its agenda to abolish Article 370 of the Constitution, which confers special status to the state.
"Jaundiced eyes see yellow. This is how PDP looks at the whole scenario, they neither did anything when in the government, nor acted as a responsible opposition," he said.
That, Wani said, left no doubt that PDP is working on behalf of BJP, RSS and other communal forces.
"Defeat and rejection (is making) them act in a frenzied manner and now they are getting disconnected and panicky," he said.
Terming PDP leaders as a bunch of experienced turncoats and liars, Wani said some people lie so often that they lose the ability to tell the difference between truth and lies.
