Stating that the government was ready to hold a discussion on the issue, Kitchloo asserted that the situation in the Valley in the aftermath of Afzal's execution was normal.
"They (PDP) say they want to discuss on the situation in Kashmir Valley in the aftermath of Afzal Guru's hanging. Government is ready. You know how the situation is in Kashmir. It is peaceful," Kitchloo said here.
Praising the police and people of the state, the minister said that leaving apart a few incidents, situation in the state remained by and large peaceful after Guru's hanging.
Given the fact that "neither the case happened in Jammu and Kashmir, nor has any FIR been lodged here", the state government has "no role" in the matter.
On the adjournment motions moved by the party, the minister said it is the Speaker's prerogative to take a call on it.
