Peace process with Karbi militants extended till Sept. 30

The ground rules for the peace process with militant Karbi Longri National Liberation Front (KLNLF) in Assam's Karbi Anglong district has been extended upto September 30, police today said.
At a meeting of the security-joint Monitoring Group was held today at the Special Branch HQ here where it was decided to extend the ground rules for the peace process with the KLNLF upto September 30, a statement by police said.
The representatives present in the meeting expressed the hope that the KLNLF leadership will hold further discussions with representative of Central and state governments to arrive at a consensus settlement during this period, it added.
