"The Deputy Commissioner, Doda, in a meeting to take stock of the essential commodities in the district, has advised the people to exercise caution while moving out of their houses," an official spokesman said.
During the meeting, attended by various senior civil and police officials of the district, concerned authorities were told to take stock of the available essential commodities in the mountainous belt.
"The officials were instructed to ensure that there was no disruption in the supply of essential commodities to the residents of these areas," the spokesman said.
"Several feet of snow has accumulated at various places and the officials were instructed that necessary measures need to be taken so that the residents of these areas don't suffer," he said.
