Biswajit, 78, said through this film, people will finally get to know many aspects about Bose, his life and his contribution towards the country, which have not been depicted properly in earlier movies.
"We have done complete research and we will mainly focus during the period from 1942 to 1945. We have got a lot of support from his party All India Forward Bloc. It is time to make a film on Netaji which shows him in the right light. So far whatever films have been made on him have not done justice to him. They have not shown the real side. He has made immense contribution to our country," Biswajit told PTI.
The film directed by Biswajit and written by Alok Krishna Chakravarty, will be made in Hindi, English and Bengali. Besides Bose other historical personalities to feature in the movie will be Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Winston Churchill, Jawaharlal Nehru, Swami Vivekananda among others.
"The cast will have both Indian and foreign actors. The film is now in scripting stage. It will take another month's time. Then we will decide about the cast," Biswajit said.
When asked if his son, Bengali star Prosenjit will be a part of the film, he said, "We will cast actors who fit in the roles. We are yet to take a call on that."
Biswajit said that Bose's family members are also supportive about the upcoming project and are helping shape the film.
"Netaji is a national property, we do not need permission to make a film on him. I know his family members - his nephews. I am in touch with them and meet them when I visit Kolkata. Even Ashok Ghosh of Forward Bloc has given his full co-operation to us. Everybody is charged up about the project. We just hope that it turns out well," he said.
