A petition has been filed in Madras High court bench, seeking a probe by Ramanathapuram District Collector against DMK MP Sivakumar alias J K Rithish for alleged criminal acts.
Petitioner Thangaraj, former panchayat president of Manjur village in the district, charged the MP and five others with attacking, abusing and calling him by his caste name near a guest house here, following which a case was registered.
He alleged there are 11 criminal pending cases against the MP and in June also, he had engaged one Nagaraj to attack him at Paramakudi after which a case was registered.
Instead of Nagaraj, one Dinakaran appeared in the Judicial Magistrate court at Parmakudi as part of the bail condition. The JM questioned this and directed police to take action but only an impersonation case was registered and not for one escaping from court. Nagarajan acted as per instructions of the MP, the petitioner alleged.
Though he made a representation to the collector to take action against the MP, nothing had been done, he contended.
In another petition, another DMK worker P Samidurai alleged he was attacked by six persons due to a "conspiracy" hatched by the MP. Thereafter, on his complaint a case was registered, but the name of Rithish was 'wantonly ommitted', he alleged.
But in his complaint he attributed the act (assault) to Rithish. Hence he prayed for a direction from the court to direct police to include the MP in the case.
