At a meeting of Uttar Pradesh Petrol Traders Association (UPPTA), it was decided to close down all petrol pumps to protest the killing of Mohammad Jasheen.
UPPTA's President B N Shukla said that their strike will be indefinite and will go on till those involved in the killing were arrested.
Shukla also demanded compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased.
Jasheen (40), cashier at a petrol pump near KKC Degree College trisection here, was shot at last night by two motorcycle-borne youths, who sped away after stealing money from him.
On being contacted, Additional Director General (ADG), Technical Services, R K Vishwakarma said he appeals to petrol pump owners to end their strike and that a special task force has been asked to investigate the case.
