The 36-year-old said that the most difficult part of shooting Les Wiseman's action movie remake was the intense physical training he undertook to get fit, reported Contactmusic.

"The biggest part of the preparation for me was physical. We had four months before we started shooting so I went to the gym every day. I started shooting and did ridiculous things like I went to the gym after a 15 hour set. That was the hardest thing, it was staying in shape.

"I got really fit before the film and I knew it was going to be a tough shoot and I spent six months running, jumping, shooting, falling, being hit, hitting, screaming, shouting!," he said.

The Hollywood hunk also confessed he hated watching himself on the big screen.

"I haven't seen it, but I saw a rough cut of it about five months ago and even what I saw, I thought it was entertaining. There's enough in this film on the screen for my presence not to detract from the experience as it usually does.

"Total Recall" also stars Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.
